Display Week 2017 MFC to Feature Keynotes from Senior Automotive Experts at General Motors, HARMAN International and Strategy Analytics
CAMPBELL, Calif., and AUSTIN, Texas, May 4, 2017- -- The Society for Information Display (SID), together with Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC), today announced the full conference agenda for the upcoming Automotive Display Market Focus Conference (MFC), to be held on Tuesday, May 23, at the Los Angeles Convention Center during Display Week. This new addition to Display Week's esteemed annual Business Track will bring together display and automotive industry experts to examine a broad range of topics associated with the vehicle display ecosystem.

General Motors' Thomas Seder, GM technical fellow and chief technologist – Human Machine Interface (HMI), will describe GM's vision for how displays of the future will be integrated into automobile design and how displays contribute to a successful product.
11:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Keynote Address: Humanizing the Autonomous Car
In her talk, Rashmi Rao, senior director, advanced engineering for leading automotive electronics supplier HARMAN International, will describe the importance of differentiated in-car experiences in meeting consumer demands. She will further discuss how HARMAN will contribute to enabling the connected car of 2025.
1:00 – 1:30 p.m. Keynote Address: Automotive and Display Market Trends
The amount of driving-related data continues to escalate, and OEMs must find new ways to keep drivers informed without distracting them. Roger Lanctot, associate director for the Global Automotive Practice at market research firm Strategy Analytics, will identify these challenges, as well as the implications of new display technologies for the automotive landscape.
1:30 – 2:45 p.m. Flat-Panel Display Ubiquity
Presenters for this session will describe display innovations targeted at the automotive market, the advantages and trade-offs of technology choices and the outlook for OLED displays in the automotive market. This session addresses design choices for interactivity, issues surrounding safety, utility and ubiquity, and how innovations in touch panel technology improve the in-car experience. 4:20 – 5:30 p.m. Heads-up Displays and Augmented Reality
In this session, a Tier 1 supplier will lay out the unique issues for heads-up displays (HUDs), including the fate of past HUD offerings.
