Abstract: “Cockpit Electronics: Transforming the Future of Mobility”
Automotive cockpit electronics – one of the fastest-growing segments – is changing rapidly, as the industry responds to digitization, internet connectivity, and the increased focus on user experience. These trends are driving significant changes in vehicle infotainment systems, instrument clusters and displays.
To address the need to display fast-evolving content such as safety-related data and navigation content, instrument clusters have quickly evolved from fixed-function mechanical gauges, to hybrid small LCD display plus gauges, to now all-digital display-based clusters. This increased digital content is driving the center information displays to get larger, with higher resolution and graphics quality. Larger displays also drive the need for integration with the rest of the dashboard panel. Visteon is working with global automakers to address these trends and generate a seamless, integrated driver experience.
