Tim Lloyd SVP Engineering and Product Planning Pioneer Automotive Technologies
Abstract: The underlying technologies of current automotive head-up display systems are LCD and more recently DLP technology. This presentation discusses a head-up display system based on raster scanning LASER/MEMS technology and its relative advantages and challenges when compared to conventional systems. Additionally, the presentation concludes with an introduction to flexible film OLED technology for automotive applications. BIO: Tim Lloyd is Senior Vice President of Engineering & Product Planning for Pioneer Automotive Technologies, Inc., a subsidiary of Pioneer Corporation in Japan. He has more than 25 years of progressive experience in product development, engineering, and operations in the automotive industry. Tim directs North American emerging technologies and advanced engineering that includes laser-based heads up displays, flexible OLED, and others. Additionally, Tim has brought many successful connected car and display-audio product development projects to fruition with several automotive manufacturers. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Cincinnati, and an MBA from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business.
