2017 SID/DSCC Automotive Display Conference Tuesday, May 23, 2017 LA Convention Center
Chuck Milligan CEO FlexEnable
Abstract: A revolution in the human machine interface (HMI) in automotive is coming as displays evolve significantly beyond the instrument panel and the center console. Potentially any curved or shaped surface in the car interior can now become an active display – bringing compelling new user value in automotive car interiors in the near future.
This presentation will review conformable organic LCD (OLCD) as a way to re-purpose a display technology (LCD) that is already qualified for automotive and that can be manufactured using existing factory capacity. Not only is OLCD the lowest cost flexible display technology, it also enables ultra-bright displays for viewing in daylight conditions.
