Title: Conformable and shapeable OLCDs for Automotive: Enabling a revolutionary change in HMI with an incremental change in supply chain. Abstract: The surface area devoted to displays in vehicle interiors is increasing rapidly, a trend which is unsustainable unless displays and touch screens become fully integrated into the curved and shaped surfaces of the interior. These new surface integrated displays must meet automotive brightness and reliability requirements whilst adding minimal additional cost. This talk from FlexEnable will describe how a new plastic/organic LCD (OLCD) technology is being introduced into volume manufacture to meet these requirements by adapting existing automotive-qualified TFT LCD production lines.
