DSCC Launches New Advanced OLED Smartphone Features Database/Report

DSCC provides detailed OLED smartphone shipments by brand, model and panel supplier, size and resolution on a panel shipment timeline in its Quarterly OLED Shipment Report. However, there are many other parameters that our customers are interested in such as:

  • Refresh rate - 60Hz, 90Hz, 120Hz, 144Hz and 240Hz;
  • Backplane type - LTPS vs. LTPO vs. oxide;
  • Price band
  • Cover glass type - 2.5D, 3D and 3.5D;
  • Notch vs. HIAA vs. UPC vs. pop-up camera vs. large bezel;
  • Cellular band - 4G vs. Sub-6 GHz vs. Sub-6 GHz/mmWave;
  • Fingerprint sensor type – Optical, Face ID, Ultrasonic and Sonic Max;
  • Fingerprint sensor location -front, under panel, back, side and none;
  • Touch type – integrated (on-cell) vs. add-on
  • Processor supplier;
  • Processor model;
  • Driver IC bonding type – COF vs. COP vs. COG
  • And more

So, we have developed a new database and report as an option for our Quarterly OLED Shipment Report subscribers which includes all of the information above as well as other display focused specifications already found in our report such as panel size, resolution, PPI, aspect ratio, screen to body ratio, primary panel supplier, secondary panel supplier, third panel supplier and of course quarterly and annual shipments. This data is provided for 500 different AMOLED smartphone models and counting.

We have had a lot of interest in a refresh rate forecast. Below is our current refresh rate forecast assuming Apple doesn’t offer higher refresh rates with the iPhone 12 Pro models. We clearly see the market moving to 120Hz. The shipment data is available by model by quarter.
