Notebook PC Market Outlook

A discussion of AMD’s view of the notebook PC market, describing our successes and challenges. Particular attention will be focused on AMD’s Strategic Alliances Organization and how the group collaborates with the PC ecosystem to improve the UX (User Experience) of PC buyers. Additional areas of discussion will include AMD’s desires and expectations for platform growth and potential engagement opportunities.


John is the Director of Strategic Alliances at AMD and a 2019 Harvard Business School Executive Education graduate. John has 20+ years of display industry experience, having held roles at Apple, DisplaySearch, Cisco and Intel.

Prior to AMD, John led sourcing efforts for numerous ground-breaking products at Apple before joining DisplaySearch to lead their mobile PC market research and consulting business. At Intel, he was deeply engaged in their Horseshoe Bend (the 17” foldable OLED program), Low Power Display technology and Athena/Evo programs.

At AMD, John will be leading his company’s efforts to form and grow strategic relationships with the display ecosystem to ensure that the best display technology is available in AMD platforms.
